The SBA offers guidance on different types of structures. Once you’ve chosen your business structure, you will need to file your papers with the Secretary of State’s office and register a trade name (if applicable).

•  Employees. Visit the Maine Department of Labor website for information on hiring employees, unemployment insurance, wages and labor laws.
• Funding. There are a myriad of options to obtain financing for your business once you have completed the steps above. These options include:
