Property Tax Fairness Credit

The Maine Residents Property Tax and Rent Refund "Circuitbreaker" Program was repealed as part of the enacted state budget for claims beginning on or after August 1, 2013.  This program was replaced by a refundable Property Tax Fairness Credit that can be claimed on the Maine Individual Income Tax Form.   
 
This program is not administered by the Town of Gorham. To claim the credit, you must file Form 1040ME and Schedule PTFC/STFC for the tax year during which the property tax or rent was paid. For help, call 207-624-9784. For more info, please visit Property Tax Fairness Credit Summary.

Senior Property Tax Assistance Program

The Senior Property Tax Assistance Program was adopted by the Town Council in January of 2018.  This program provides property tax assistance to persons sixty-five (65) years of age and over who reside in the Town of Gorham. Under this program, the Town of Gorham will provide refund payments to those individuals who maintain a homestead in Gorham and meet the criteria establishes by ordinance, which can be viewed HERE.
