Please see the Maine Department of Transportation's (MDOT) Press Release below regarding the remaining work on the Main Street Project beginning Monday, March 23, 2020, which includes a mill and fill portion between Meadow Brook Drive and the project end station to the west. The project envisions new signal mast arms, pedestrian poles, and associated equipment at the intersections of School Street, Elm Street, New Portland Road and Libby Avenue. Also included in the project scope are ADA and sidewalk upgrades project wide, construction of new parking stalls in downtown Gorham, and miscellaneous drainage and safety improvements.
Anticipate two-way traffic during daytime hours with work in various areas. Nighttime work is expected as part of this project with one-way alternating traffic control. All paving and milling operations will be done during the nighttime hours.
