How can I contest a traffic citation?

On the back of the traffic ticket are instructions for contesting the ticket.  You must check off the box indicating that you want to contest the ticket and mail the ticket to the Violations Bureau at the address listed on the ticket.  You have 20 days from the day you got the ticket to do this.  If you contest the ticket, you will receive a court date by mail from the Violations Bureau.  The notice will be sent to you at the address on the ticket, so please make sure that the address on the ticket is correct.  The Violations Bureau will not research correct addresses or P.O. Boxes.
