Sports Program Supervisor

The Town of Gorham’s Recreation Department is seeking individuals for its seasonal, temporary positions of Sports Program Supervisors. This position is responsible for general oversight of the Department’s basketball leagues and programs. Individuals in this position will act as a visible representative of the Gorham Recreation Department and provide for a clean, safe and secure environment, while following and enforcing CDC recommended social distancing requirements. The individual supervises other temporary staff who are assisting with gym programs. Work is performed under the general supervision of the Sports and Community Activities Manager. Work hours are variable (4-20 hours a week) and generally occur Friday and Saturday mornings and afternoons at different gymnasiums throughout the Town during the Basketball season (November – March).
Minimum of a High School diploma, or equivalent, required. Current certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred. General knowledge of basketball and gym sports preferred. Prior work experience in customer service setting preferred.
The pay range for this position is between $15 and $17 per hour and is commensurate with experience.
