METRO Husky line
The Town of Gorham offers public transportation between Portland, Westbrook, Gorham, and USM campuses in Portland and Gorham through Greater Portland METRO and its Husky Line bus service. Below are additional details regarding the service:
 
  • The Husky Line is open to everyone;
  • The Husky Line and all METRO buses are accessible and equipped with passenger lifts or ramps that can be used by persons with wheelchairs, walkers, and other mobility aids. All Metro buses contain space to accommodate two (2) people using wheelchairs;
Fare Payment:
  • USM students can ride using their student ID (through a partnership with METRO).
  • Other passengers can use a mobile app, smartcard, or cash to pay their fare:
DiriGo Pass mobile app – Download the UMO Mobility Mobile App on a smartphone to plan a trip, track a bus, pay fare.
DiriGo Pass smartcard – Available through participating transit agencies (METRO, Biddeford Saco Old Orchard Beach Transit, South Portland Bus).
  • Add value to DiriGo Pass Smartcards online at UMOpass.com or through participating transit agencies, CVS, 7-Eleven, and Walgreens.

Cash Fares

  • Full fare one way -- $2.00
  • Reduced fare one way -- $1

  • Bus stops are located downtown Portland (Elm Street, off Congress St.); Marginal Way/Portland; USM Portland; Stevens/Brighton Avenue; Rock Row; Westbrook Hub (downtown Westbrook); Gorham Village (outbound toward USM Gorham, near Gorham Savings Bank); Gorham Village (inbound to Portland, stop at TD Bank near Hannaford);

  • Public parking is available on South Street and Elm Street in Gorham, as well as at the Park and Ride at 369-381 South Street.
  • A few helpful tips:
    -  Wait at the bus stop at least five minutes before the bus is due to arrive.
    -  It’s helpful to wave to the driver as the bus approaches so they know you want to board the bus.
    -  Have fare ready to pay (smartphone, smartcard, or cash) when boarding
    -  Find a seat (front seats are for seniors and persons with disabilities) and enjoy the ride.
    -  Pull the yellow cord to notify driver to stop the bus when planning to disembark

Traveling from the Maine Turnpike? Reach the Gorham Municipal Center in under 25 minutes via the directions below:
 
  • Take exit 46 toward Maine 22/Jetport/Congress St
  • Follow ME-22 W/County Rd to ME-114 N/South St
  • Turn left on Morrill Avenue, then right on Ball Park Road - the Municipal Center parking lot will be on the right.
