Town-Sponsored Memorial Day Parade & Activities Cancelled

American flag
Due to the existing executive orders and social distancing requirements issued by the Governor and CDC, the Town of Gorham-sponsored annual Memorial Day Parade and activities have been cancelled this year. The Town will not be hosting any other activities in lieu of the parade. We look forward to hosting these well-attended and festive ceremonies in the years to come.

There will be a recording on a small ceremony that will be rebroadcast on the Gorham Community Access channel at a later date. The ceremony is not open to the public.

The National Moment of Remembrance Act
In 2000, Congress passed The National Moment of Remembrance Act which declares there be a moment of silence at 3pm on Memorial Day.

As we prepare to welcome the unofficial beginning of Summer, you are invited to pause at 3pm on Memorial Day - Monday, May 25th to join a national moment of silence and remember and honor those who gave their lives in service of our country.
