Fun event to benefit the Friends of BML and GEF
Gorham Wine Tasting Benefit May 17
The Friends of Baxter Memorial Library and the Gorham Educational
Foundation, Inc. have partnered to sponsor a Wine Tasting and Savories
Event to benefit both organizations. The event, to be held May 17,
2008 at the Baxter Memorial Library from 6:30 to 8:00 pm, will be
catered by The Pinecrest Inn. The Gorham Grind will provide coffee
service.
The event will feature fine wines including selections from Maine, a
variety of savories from the Pinecrest Inn, and sweet morsels from
area bakers, capped off with fresh brewed coffee from the Gorham
Grind. Preview of auction items will continue until 7:15 pm with the
live auction immediately following.
The groups have issued a challenge to local organizations and
businesses - to assemble and donate for auction a basket or group of
items that best represents their organization in the community. The
collections will be displayed at the library two weeks before the
event and will be offered for bids at a live auction during the event.
Individual donations for other area businesses will also be
auctioned. For more information on donating baskets or items, please

Tickets are $25 each and are available for purchase at The Pinecrest
Inn, Baxter Memorial Library, and by calling 233-1919.
The Friends of Baxter Memorial Library directly supports programs at
Baxter Memorial Library. The Gorham Educational Foundation, Inc.
supports enrichment and leadership programs for students and teachers
at Gorham public schools, and offers grants to teachers to enhance
learning. Both groups are non-profit organizations. For more
