Youth Service Librarian Position

YOUTH SERVICES LIBRARIAN
The Baxter Memorial Library in Gorham, ME is seeking an energetic and
customer service oriented Youth Services Librarian. Working under the
general supervision of the Library Director, the Youth Services
Librarian is responsible for all aspects of Youth Services (ages birth
? 18 and parents/caregivers) including but not limited to programming,
outreach, collection development, and supervision of the Youth
Services Department staff and volunteers.
For this full time (37.5 hours/week) professional position, an ALA
accredited MLS, experience working with children and young adults, and
supervisory experience are strongly preferred. This position involves
evening and weekend hours. The starting pay rate is $18.75/hour with
competitive benefits. EOE.
The Baxter Memorial Library is located just west of Portland, ME in
Gorham; a vibrant community of approximately 15,000 people. The
library is part of the Minerva Library Consortium and a department of
the Town of Gorham. The library has over 6,500 registered patrons, a
very supportive Board of Trustees, and an active Friends Group. The
library is located within walking distance of three schools.
