INFORMATION FOR REGISTRATION OF
ATV’s BOATS SNOWMOBILES
The State of Maine has authorized the Town to register the following at the Town office:
ATV’s, Snowmobiles, and Boats. Snowmobile and ATV registration RENEWALS can also be processed online through the State Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife website at www10.informe.org/ifw/atv-snow/

NEW REGISTRATION
Fees: $40.00 State Registration Fee
$ 2.00 Town Agent Fee
Sales tax if purchased through a private sale -- 5% of the purchase price

Duplicate Registration and Stickers - $3.00, Lake & River Protection Stickers must be purchased again for full price.
Resident Transfers - $5.00 Registration Fee, in addition to agent fee and difference in excise tax for boats.
LAKE & RIVER PROTECTION STICKERS
Prevention of milfoil in Maine waterways has become a very high priority for the State of Maine. A new law was passed requiring the display of a special Lake & River Protection Sticker to launch a boat on inland waters. The cost of these stickers are:
Resident: $10.00 to be displayed on boats registered in the State of Maine
Nonresident (Other): $20.00 to be displayed on boats that are registered outside of the State of Maine
ON-LINE REGISTRATIONS
The Department of Inland Fisheries has a web site that allows Maine residents to re-register ATV and Snowmobile registrations on-line. The web site is: www.state.me.us/ifw/licreg/regsale.html.
