CEMETERIES
There are 14 public cemeteries in the Town of Gorham, plus several private, family cemeteries. Of the public cemeteries the North Gorham Cemetery, Saplin Hill Cemetery and White Rock Cemetery are managed by private Associations. The Town is responsible for lot assignments and burials at Hillside Cemetery, the Association is responsible for maintenance. The Town is completely responsible for all other public cemeteries in the Town of Gorham . The Town Clerk’s office assigns and sells lots in these cemeteries and well as arranging for burials and keeping records for all cemeteries under the Town’s responsibility. At the present time lots are being assigned by the Town Clerk in North Street Cemetery, West Gorham Cemetery and Hillside Cemetery. Lot costs vary so please contact the
Town Clerk as to the individual lot costs. The Town does not issue deeds to cemetery lots but instead issues Perpetual Care Agreements.
